At present, according to the different structural forms and materials used, it is generally classified as all-steel tower (split piece), concrete-steel hybrid tower (mixed tower) and truss type. Among them, the full steel structure tower is also called flexible tower, which belongs to the main scheme of high tower at present. The whole tower is divided into 4-6 sections for transportation and installation, which can meet the transportation requirements of most sites. Because the whole steel structure has lighter weight and swings violently in strong wind season, it may resonate with the wind wheel, thus reducing the service life of the tower and increasing the accident risk. The supply of flexible tower is also easily affected by steel price, the overall price is relatively high (about 8000 yuan/t); The second type of concrete and some steel structures are called mixed towers. The main advantages of reinforced concrete towers are that they can be constructed on site, reducing the transportation cost and the overall tower cost. The concrete part is formed by prefabricated formwork at one time, with relatively long construction period and high installation cost. The overlapping part of concrete and steel structure is also easy to form weak points to absorb stress, if the concrete part is not painted, the overall shape is not as beautiful as the flexible tower, and there will be some problems in dismantling and recycling after the service period expires. The bottom of the truss tower fan structure is based on trusses, with high structural rigidity and high bearing capacity, which can effectively avoid resonance, is about 20% lighter than the traditional steel tower, and effectively reduces the volume and weight of transportation. There are some pilot projects at sea and on land, at present, the market share is still relatively small.
Generally, there are several alternatives for the tower height of the wind turbine, and the alternative hub heights of different models are different. Therefore, after the selected wind turbine model of the project is determined, the hub height selection is generally compared among the alternative hub heights of the model, but it can also be comprehensively compared according to the wind energy resources, transportation, construction conditions and engineering cost of the specific wind farm, the economic and reasonable hub height is selected by LCOE, and finally determined by the bidding results of the main engine and tower.
The customized height of the tower is less. Generally, the optional height of the prefabricated tower is 100m, 120m, 140m, 160m, etc. This makes us try to be as high as possible when setting up the wind measurement tower. Multiple sensors are installed at the height of the mainstream tower to improve the representativeness of the wind measurement data. Several wind parameters involved include air density, wind speed, wind power density, wind shear and turbulence, etc. Generally, the wind shear at the hub height is lower than 0.2 to meet the safety requirements. In the area with relatively large shear, some towers are designed with backward inclination to optimize the overall stress distribution.
Some special areas require the height of the tower to be limited, and the safe avoidance range of tower dumping should be reserved. Considering that the main reasons for the dumping of the fan tower are poor foundation geology, substandard construction quality of the fan foundation, insufficient load calculation, poor tower manufacturing quality, strong resonance damage of the tower caused by storm, etc. Therefore, the site selection, basic load design calculation, construction quality, equipment manufacturing quality control, etc. are strictly implemented in accordance with the requirements of relevant specifications. Try to install in the place where the vertical wind shear value and ground roughness are small within the height range of the fan, and the turbulence is not easy to form under various wind conditions, and configure the unit control operation safety protection system.
